The Women’s and Gender Studies Program offers Graduate Research Fellowships, normally up to $1,000 for dissertation research and up to $750 for master’s thesis research on topics relevant to Women’s and Gender Studies. This includes, for example, research on the social construction of gender, gender-based discrimination, women’s historical achievements, women’s literature, women and politics, feminist literary criticism, media images of men and women, feminist theory, and other gender-related issues.
Relevant projects in any discipline are eligible for consideration, and those incorporating interdisciplinary perspectives are encouraged. Students who are enrolled in or who have completed the WGST Graduate Certificate Program will receive priority.
Graduate Student Travel and Research Assistance Grants: 17-18 deadlines are October 20, 2017, and March 16, 2018
Graduate students who are conducting research and/or presenting conference papers relevant to Women’s and Gender Studies may apply to the Women’s and Gender Studies Travel and Research Assistance Program for small grants to supplement other sources of funding. These grants, usually around $250, are evaluated based on merit, prestige of the conference, feasibility of research, and need. Papers that have already been presented outside TAMU are ineligible. Incomplete applications will be disqualified. Students enrolled and making demonstrable progress in the Graduate Certificate Program will receive priority consideration. Grant applications are considered twice a year. To apply, complete and submit Travel Assistance Application and/or Research Assistance Application.
